Restoration – Reuse of a listed traditional building at Aristotelous Street in Lamia

On September 19, 2022, the contract for the project “Restoration – Reuse of a listed traditional building at Aristotelous Street in Lamia” was signed between the Municipality of Lamia and ABC.

The new use of the preserved buildings is planned to be a “cultural center”: a historical information point for the city of Lamia and a space for the development of cultural activities.
The buildings where restoration works will be carried out are located on a plot of land with an area of ​​515.80 sq.m. and are as follows:
1) Three-storey preserved stone building of 1880 of total coverage area
119.43 sq.m. with tiled roof. Use: space for cultural activities
2) Two-storey preserved stone building adjacent to the previous one, built on
at that time, with a roof, with a total coverage area of ​​40.06 sq.m. The ground floor of this building and its floor are respectively an extension of the 1st and 2nd floors of the previous building. Use: space for cultural activities
3) Pre-1955 stone building, with a total coverage area of ​​48.17 sq.m., with a roof and corrugated sheet metal covering. Use: auxiliary cultural space activities (warehouse)
4) Single-storey brick building, with a total coverage area of ​​59.17 sq.m., with
polyurethane panel coating. Use: space for cultural activities (canteen)
Outside the buildings there is a courtyard area paved with Karystos slabs. The plot overlooks the Aristotelous sidewalk with its main portico and the Pelasgon pedestrian walkway with its secondary entrance.
